Echoing Hills Welcomes Regional Director of Southwest Ohio
David Brings Experience and Passion to New Role

While studying at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, (link: David King was a counselor at Camp Echoing Hills. (link: Throughout the school year, David was on a work and witness team that worked at camp on the weekends. This role was his first experience working with individuals with disabilities. What he didn’t know was the field would become his lifelong career. But only after a brief pit stop.

David’s counselor met with him in his junior year to discuss declaring a major. At the time, he had many interests but didn’t know what to pursue. He landed on business. After graduation, David found a job in middle management for a window company.

After working for four years, David was preparing to get married. His fiancée, now wife Faith, told him he needed to find a new job before they got married.

“She knew I wasn’t happy in my career. She encouraged me to find something where I was working with people. Something that would allow me to follow my passion,” recalls David.

After returning home from work one day, Faith asked David if an opportunity came up to interview at a place like Goodwill would he do it. He said yes, and it was a good thing he did! His fiancée had arranged an interview for him.

Professional Life

David worked at Goodwill for 27 years in day programming and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. He later left to work for ARC Industries and then Circulo Health. The company closed this past May, and David lost his job. He spent this time off with his family and placed his whole trust in God for what would be next.

Almost 40 years after being a camp counselor, David has returned to Echoing Hills as the Regional Director for Southwest Ohio. (link: He shares that the journey to this role was God-driven, and he is happy with where God led him.

“This position encompasses all of my experience and passions,” says David. “I had other opportunities but placed them on hold for the possibility of this new career. The organization is faith-based and lives up to its mission. I am fortunate to be here.”

David is excited to get started and to begin making a difference.

“I’m looking forward to making new relationships with those we serve and team members. I am ready to help continue the mission of the organization. I want people to know who we are and what we do,” David shares. “We all have a disability of some type. Many of us are fortunate to have someone there to help us where we need assistance. That is what we do at Echoing Hills.”

Personal Life

David has been married for 33 years. Together, he and Faith have four grown sons and two wonderful daughters-in-law. In addition, they have three beautiful grandchildren. He enjoys getting together with his family as much as possible. David also likes walking, playing tennis, biking, and reading. He would love to go on an Alaskan cruise with his family and skydive.

Love. Learn. Worship.
