Loving, Genuine, and Gentle – Meet Stephanie!
Stephanie has worked at Echoing Hills of Southwest Ohio for five years. Her desire to help others started as a child. At 18, she began as an STNA. Wanting to be a close friend, the ratio of 1:5 drew her into serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Serving those with disabilities gives her a grateful and humble heart.
Currently, Stephanie is the Dietary Supervisor. In her role, she runs the kitchen, oversees the menu, places truck orders, and processes food items according to texture. Initially, she worked one-on-one with an individual; however, switched her role due to her passion for cooking. Her favorite part of her job is cooking lunches, which are ‘chef’s choice.’ Using her creativity, Stephanie incorporates her culture and provides nutritious meals to those we serve.
Stephanie is a true friend to those we serve. She explains, “They see me, get me, and notice if I haven’t been here in a few days. They’re giving, genuine, and consistent. They are unapologetically themselves.” Stephanie goes on, “They make the job worthwhile. Those we serve are pure and joyful – it comes naturally to them.”
Echoing Hills is different from other places because of the focus on putting God first. Stephanie says, “You can’t do anything without God.” She continues by explaining how all life experiences make you who you are. Her heart for helping people started at a young age. She gives credit to her family for who she has become. Stephanie finishes, “Be a light. Be who you want to see. Four quarters are better than 100 pennies – it is better to have four close friends than 100 people that are just around you.”
To her, Echoing Hills’ mission means ensuring that each person lives a purposeful, meaningful, and self-sufficient life. Finding joy and peace can look different for everyone, but Echoing Hills can support everyone with love. Revolutionizing lives one smile at a time is the core focus of our ministry.
