Jennifer Massaro

Empathetic and caring with a great sense of humor – this would describe our newest team member, Jennifer Massaro.  Jennifer joined the Echoing Hills team on October 5^th as the Corporate Communications Specialist, bringing experience in Marketing, Sales, and Development, as well as positive energy for her new role.

Jennifer was drawn to Echoing Hills as “God has given me a servant’s heart, and this organization is one that serves, putting others first.  The mission spoke to me, and the ministry has such a variety of programming that can meet the needs and desires of so many.”  She is eager to begin experiencing first-hand all the ministry does and sharing those stories with others.

Jennifer is married to Michael, sharing they had an arranged marriage of sorts (be sure to ask her about it!).  Together they have two children, Lilly and Dominic, who are 11 years old and into volleyball, scouting, choir, and band collectively.  When asked what she enjoys doing, she said, “antiquing on those rare occasions I’m not with my kids.”  Usually, however, she will be found enjoying anything outdoors with her family – camping (they just purchased a camper this summer), kayaking, hiking, swimming.  The family took a trip to Hawaii last summer, partaking in many nature adventures.  Their favorite was an intense 2.5-mile hike to Papakolea Beach, one of only four green sand beaches in the world.  Being one who enjoys nature, Jennifer can’t wait to explore the 94 acres available on Echoing Hills’ campus and seeing individuals experience and enjoy camp, and the great outdoors, next summer.

Jennifer is most looking forward to getting to meet and form relationships with those who make Echoing Hills so special – both those who she will work beside and the individuals served.  She shares, “On my second day, I was able to meet two individuals, Ron and Jeff.  We were having a great conversation when out of the blue, Jeff asked me if I lie, confused I shook my head no.  Jeff went on to say ‘then how do you sleep,’ delivering great comedic timing.”   She walked away from that conversation laughing, and with a sense of peace and joy, expressing “that interaction, beginning with a smile and ending with a laugh, was what I needed at that moment in time and confirmed I am where God wants me to be.”  And we are glad her heart was led to Echoing Hills!

Christopher Setser

I am SO EXCITED to be the Program Director for echoingU of Southwest Ohio!

Having been in both ministry and connected with my wife’s learning differently classroom, I have a passion to help the students grow in their faith and knowledge at the same time! I am truly blessed to be a part of their journey. It is exciting to be part of improving and enriching the lives of the individuals we serve!

I have been married to my beautiful wife Andreana for almost 19 years, and we have 2 sons, Andrew and Ryan. They are a Junior & Senior in High School at Troy Christian High School. My youngest son Ryan has connected us to many amazing experiences as he serves as Children’s Champion (ambassador) for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. We are blessed with a great home, family, and church family.

Some of my favorite things are great food like Fettucini Alfredo, amazing movies like Moana and vacationing in Costa Maya, Mexico. My “go to” Bible Verse is: “If you humble yourself before the Lord, He will lift you up and give you honor.”  James 4:10

Heather Woolum

Welcome Heather Woolum, Human Resource Generalist. Heather is a graduate of Strayer University with a major in Business and Human Resources. She has spent the last 12 years of her career in Human Resources. Heather has four grown children and lives in Springfield, OH with her dog Jack. Heather says she chose Echoing Hills for the same reason she chose a career in Human Resources, she loves helping people and looking for ways to make their lives better.

Angie Jordan

She’s BAACCKK! After seven years, Angie Jordan has returned to Echoing Hills in full force with enthusiasm and eagerness as the Director of Development and Marketing for the Corporation. With over 20 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Public Relations and Development in both the profit and non-profit arenas, Angie’s innovative and visionary approach blends impeccably with that of Echoing Hills President and CEO Tim Neville’s strategic leadership style.

So what has Angie been doing over the past seven years besides watching the story of her life unfold? Her 21-year-old son Logan is now a senior at The Ohio State University (her alma mater), her daughter Macy is now a senior in High School, and Angie and her high school sweetheart Jason just celebrated 25 years of marriage. We won’t forget her baby Harley – a 55 lb. English bulldog – who starts her day on her momma’s lap during coffee and devotions time! Additionally, her never sleep personality (literally) allows her to be instrumental in strategizing with businesses in many industries to consider the value of ‘looking’ at the bigger picture not just the Marketing Plan. She feels very strongly, every area of the business one way or another impacts the outcome of the marketing initiatives and fundraising goals which is why it is imperative to have the business integrated from every standpoint.

What does Angie enjoy most in her downtime? She laughs, “What’s downtime?” She quickly rebounds, and explains how she really tries to take time to see the beauty in each day. Something she easily learned from her amazing mother. Appreciate the simple things, which is something often overlooked. The calm in the bright blue sky. The warmth from the cheerful sun. The serenity in the depths of the dark night sky and the wonder in twinkling stars.

What drew Angie back to Echoing Hills? Her love for making a difference – with her co-workers, those she’s serving and ensuring an organizations’ sustainability. Whether it’s a smile, a kind word or a new innovative idea – she simply wants to make a positive impact! When considering a move to Echoing Hills, she prayerfully put it in God’s hands. He clearly opened the door that no man could close – giving her peace in knowing this was the plan He had for her. Angie said, “It’s so wonderful to be a part of a ministry that puts our Lord and Savior at the center of it all!”

Kris Sims

Kris has her Bachelors degree from The University of Akron and has worked in Human Resources for 25 years in a variety of fields.
Kris has one daughter who recently graduated from college and is working in the Finance field. Coming from a fairly large family, Kris finds herself surrounded by family on a regular basis. Take for instance the monthly “cousins dinner” where most times 25 of the 63 cousins attend. Kris told us she loves being a part of a big family. As a matter of fact, Kris finds time spent with family in the great outdoors is extremely relaxing for her.
Some of her hobbies include researching family history, reading and photography.
When asked why she chose Echoing Hills, Kris said she has great admiration for the Echoing Hills culture and values.

I started serving at camp as soon as I was allowed. I had always wanted to be a part of the ministry it was just a matter of when. I was volunteering at seven and when I was old enough to be hired on Support Staff I jumped at it. I remember filling out the staff application worrying my dad wasn’t going to hire me.

I have had almost all the jobs camp has to offer. I started in my teens and have worked almost every summer since 2002. I have had the opportunity to grow into my role as Director of Camp Echoing Hills, by serving and working with some of the best people on the planet.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Justin. We have two cats Ophelia & Pierce Brosnan.

My husband and I are real big movie buffs. We love to watch all the classics and tend to enjoy movies off the beaten path. I also enjoy reading and attempting to write.

Camp has always been in my blood and since it has always been in my life I have been able to meet many people and and have learned so much from many of them. One of the biggest impacts on my life was our nurse Dan Peterson who always served with compassion. He taught me what love and service should look like. His dedication to this ministry and the people inspires me to keep going even with “Murphy’s Law”.

I have been a nurse for 10 years and have had the honor to serve individuals with disabilities for six plus years. Working at Echoing Hills is much more than a ‘job’ by definition. The rewards of working at Echoing Hills of Central Ohio far exceed the paycheck. This community of astounding people has improved my life in an immeasurable way. I have learned an indescribable understanding of things I never knew existed and a knowledge I am persistently striving to increase. Every day is an adventure and I have the privilege of making a difference. I am truly blessed and to say I am grateful is an understatement.
I am a mother to son Aiden and daughter, Alexia. A wonderful man crossed my
path eight years ago with three beautiful children, our blended family has made
my life whole.

Rachel Ulbrich

I joined the staff of Echoing Hills February 1, 2002.  I was hired as Dietary Director for Echoing Meadows in Athens. I transferred to echoingCONNECTIONS in March of 2015 as Director of Adult Services. I remained over Dietary until Echoing Meadows downsized into smaller group homes in 2017. I also take care of some administrative functions when the administrative assistant is out of office, payroll being the main one.
I have lived in Athens County all of my life, graduated from Ohio University with a BS in Human and Consumer Sciences, with my major being Food Service Management, and a minor in business. When I first applied for the position at the end of 2001 when I saw it in the paper, I had no idea what Echoing Hills was, or the impact it would have on my life. I had never really been around anyone with a disability until I was employed by EHVI. At first I was nervous, like most new employees would be, but I soon felt welcomed into a family of 36 AMAZING people. Every day I learned more about the individuals and what they could do and could accomplish, but I have also learned so much about myself over the years. I have never considered what I do on a daily basis as “work” or a “job”. I love going to work each day as it is never the same…I am always greeted with a smile, “I missed you”, just genuine love and appreciation. I am amazed daily by the accomplishments, the generosity, the simplicity and purity. The love and trust that is given to us by those that we serve is exciting to experience, yet very hard to find the right word to explain.
I have four children, three daughters and a son.  Michala, my oldest (21), is a FT DSP at our Harner Group home. She loves her horses and dogs and photography. Hannah, who is 17, is my athletic enthusiast. She started out volunteering for us at echoingCONNECTIONS on her breaks from school and is now a PT DSP at our Altamonte and University Estates group homes. Chloe, who is almost 13, has spent her last summer break volunteering as well.  Chloe enjoys drawing, painting and most recently joined the drama program at school. My son, Zachary, is 6 and loves Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Lightening McQueen and Minecraft. The kids and their variety of interests keep my husband, Greg and I very busy.
In my free time, I bake and decorate cakes for friends and family. During one of my internships I worked in a retail deli/bakery setting and taught myself to decorate. I am probably my own toughest critic, but I have several families who keep returning and recommending me, and I have only had to refuse one person’s request since 1997, a wedding very near my son’s due date, that was a risk I was not willing to take on such a huge life event for a couple. I enjoy all types of music and can turn just about any car ride into a concert. I also enjoy catching a movie date and sharing popcorn with my husband if time allows. Our favorite vacation spots are Sandbridge Beach in Virginia, or Gatlinburg, TN area for some time in the mountains. We have hopes of traveling out west one day when time allows us to take all of that in.
When I walked into Echoing Meadows 17 years ago, I never dreamed that my life would have been impacted as it has been. The relationships that I have made over the years, not only with the individuals we serve, but their family members, has been rewarding beyond measure. I am so proud of my girls and the paths that they have taken in their lives. I am honored that those that I work with have opened up their hearts and trusted me and my family to be a part of their lives.  And most importantly, my experiences have shown me that nothing is impossible! One of my favorite passages, Matthew 17:20 “For truly, I say to you, If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there.’ And it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Timothy D. Neville

Tim Neville, President and CEO, has worked for Echoing Hills twice. His first time at Echoing Hills was during two summers prior to college. His brother encouraged him to work at Camp Echoing Hills as a counselor.

Then again in 2011, Tim had the opportunity to interview with Echoing Hills for the position of Director of Adult and Waiver Services in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Since then, Tim has not only served Echoing Hills and the individuals and families in that capacity, but also as Regional Director of NE Ohio – Echoing Lake Group Homes. In 2014, Buddy Busch, CEO / President, asked Tim to serve as Regional Vice President – Northern Ohio and oversee the operations of Echoing Lake Group Homes and Stark / Summit County services. It has truly been a blessing for Tim to be back and a part of the Ministry, Business, Organization where his calling all began over 25 years ago. Recently, following the retirement of Buddy Busch, Tim acquired the role of President and CEO of Echoing Hills.

Tim’s compassion for individuals with disabilities grew out of a friendship back in kindergarten.  His best friend, Rick, had a learning disability, but Tim never realized this until later in life. During his two summers at Camp Echoing Hills, Tim realized that his calling in life was to serve individuals with disabilities. He purposefully went to college to major in Business Administration – Management so that he could learn how to manage and lead an organization that served individuals with disabilities and their families.

To know Tim better – Tim enjoys working out in the yard and mowing grass (it’s a stress reliever). He also plays piano. Tim enjoys spending time with family and is proud of his five nieces and two nephews, all of whom are adopted either internationally or nationally. Tim enjoys vacationing at historical spots throughout the U.S. and Canada, as long as they are near an amusement park. Tim attends Living Water Church in Dalton, Ohio. He also recently completed his Masters of Science in Business and Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York.
