Rooted in Fruit

“But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

Echoing Hills exists to create opportunities for individuals to know and experience Jesus Christ. We demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit through person-centered language and care. With values and teachings rooted in Jesus, the ministry helps individuals realize their fullest potential.
The Fruit of the Spirit is in chapter five of Galatians. Written by the apostle Paul, this chapter focuses on how to apply the idea that justification comes from faith in Christ, not by the works of the law.

Salvation isn’t earned but is a gift from God through the sacrifice of Christ. Chapter five begins with Paul explaining that Christ has set us free so that we can be free. Freedom requires resistance against a return to bondage. Paul insists faith in Christ must be in Christ alone and nothing else. Those in Christ allow God’s Spirit to direct their life then produce these attributes.

Love is a commitment to the well-being of others without conditions. Joy is a gladness not based on changing circumstances but rooted in Christ.  Peace means contentment and unity with others. An example of peace is clear communication between people amid a dispute.

Patience involves being slow to speak and slow to anger.

Showing someone kindness results in tenderness, mercy, and grace towards another. Goodness is the selfless desire to be generous to others. Someone faithful is dependable, loyal, and trusting. Gentleness is a humble and calm but strong demeanor. Self-control is creating the habit of doing God’s will, not your own.

“So, I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. The flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They conflict with each other, so you are not to do whatever you want.” Galatians 5:16-17

The Fruit of the Spirit is at the core of Echoing Hills. Our Fruit of the Spirit program rewards employees for showing these characteristics in the workplace. In this program, individuals and coworkers can nominate employees for a chance to win prizes. All who are nominated receive a certificate for each quality displayed. Prizes are a potential bonus to seeing a friendly smile when showing small acts of kindness. Serving individuals with Christ-like care – this is the Echoing Way.
