Celebrating Exceptional Caregivers

Celebrating Exceptional Caregivers
The Ceca Foundation aims to enhance the human experience in healthcare communities by recognizing the outstanding contributions of exceptional caregivers. By recognizing caregivers, the foundation promotes high-quality care and experiences for families and individuals.

Two staff members from Echoing Hills received an honorable mention for the Ceca awards – Marsha Tyhurst, Direct Support Professional from Central Ohio, and Camilla Adams, Regional Home Manager from Northern Ohio. Read more about Marsha and Camilla below.

Dedicated, Honest, and Compassionate – Meet Camilia!
Camilla is attentive to the wants and needs of the individuals she serves. Going above and beyond, she ensures they have opportunities to live life to the fullest. She has accompanied individuals to Cedar Point, Put-In-Bay, and basketball games, and has planted a garden to use the produce for meals. A true team player, Camilla helps staff on the floor, picks up shifts, takes calls, and plans outings. She is consistently seeking ways to assist other regions. Her actions show what it means to have a Christ-like mindset. Even amid difficult situations, Camilla shows compassion to staff and individuals.

Dedicated, Persistent, and Caring – Meet Marsha!
Marsha goes above and beyond for the people we support. She is willing to fill in the gap when her region is short-staffed. Individuals have new experiences because Marsha has donated items and her time to help them. Her thoughtfulness is evident as she presents management with ideas that individuals have suggested. For example, this year, Marsha is taking an individual to an Alabama concert in Indiana and another individual to Nashville. These are all dreams that individuals have mentioned to her that she wants to make come true.

Program Director of Central Ohio, Jackie Householder, says, “Marsha has a heart. You cannot teach someone to have a heart for this job. She just does. Anyone can do this job. But not many are meant to do this job. Marsha is because of the heart she has. She loves the work she does, and it isn’t a job to her. This means so much more.” Marsha prioritizes the wants and needs of the individuals. She is patient and gentle during every interaction, regardless of the circumstance.

Echoing Hills celebrates leaders who go above and beyond, regardless of title. We are committed to revolutionizing the lives of individuals and supporting staff. The ministry has locations in Central, Northern, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast Ohio. Learn more about the organization and the mission on our website – ehvi.org.
