Champions!

Champions!
Direct Support Professionals, maintenance, housekeeping, administrative assistants, human resources, dietary providers, ICF, and waiver staff – all roles represented within the Champions program.

With fifty champions, members from all five Echoing Hills regions are devoted to reflecting the Echoing Way. These front-line cheerleaders are committed to demonstrating the fruit of the spirit professionally and personally. Chosen by Regional Leadership and the Employee Engagement Committee, these staff were willing to help wherever needed.

Before beginning, each champion was given a personalized kit, that was put together to get to know those who would be joining the program. These kits contained each individual’s favorite candy, snack, drink, and bible verse.

The purpose of the Champions program is to equip the staff, ensuring the individuals with quality care. Employee Engagement Manager Jen Gatto states, “The goal of the program is to shift the culture so that the fruit of the spirit flows freely and evidently.” She explains further, “I want them to know that they are a part of a bigger mission.”

Director of Staff Development Avy Neininger, Jen, and Staff Development Specialist Rochelle Tuttle launched the program on November 14, 2023, with a full day of training.
Jen and Rochelle connect with those involved through virtual meetings each month.

Excitement builds as the champions aim to enhance participation in the Fruit of the Spirit Shout-Out Program. Team members and supervisors can recognize co-workers for sharing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Champions will fulfill two primary roles for their region; trainer and influencer. They will be responsible for addressing demographic barriers by enhancing communication. This program is centered around improving communication between corporate leadership and the regions. Rochelle shares, “I will be using their talents in training and their ability to train small groups around the area in things such as emotional intelligence, teamwork, person-centered supervision, compliance, communication,  and many more things as they arise.” Looking forward there are hopes that the Champions program will have a waterfall effect improving overall employee engagement.

Love. Learn. Worship.
