Meet Jackie! Jackie has lived at Community Living of Central Ohio and has participated at Echoing Connections of Central Ohio for one year. She is smart, fun, and has a big heart. She is someone you find an instant connection with when talking.
What Three Words Would Describe You?
Kind, Friendly, and Dependable.
What Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
I enjoy reading. I typically read romance novels; however, I will read anything that looks interesting. I often read the Bible, and I especially like Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
I also enjoy writing, typically I write about someone, and sometimes my stories are made up. My goal is to write my autobiography one day.
Where Do You Find Encouragement?
I find encouragement in God first. I also find it in people – my brother, mom, and dad. My boyfriend of nine years, Alan, also encourage me. We talk every day!
What Do You Believe Are Your God-Given Talents?
I can get along with a diverse group of people. I have a friend that is a Deacon in the Catholic Church. He shared this with me one time, and it has stuck with me.
How Do You Inspire Others?
I inspire others through my determination and by being kind to everyone. When others are in distress, I can put myself in their shoes. I can do this as I relate their struggles with my own experiences.
What Is Your Favorite Thing About Echoing Hills?
My favorite thing is Camp Echoing Hills and the staff. Everyone who works at Echoing Hills works very hard to ensure we have fun while providing support, enabling us to remain independent.
