This year has changed our definition of normal. Instead of learning in a classroom, children are learning virtually; meetings once held in the boardroom, now completed in the dining room via Zoom; and praise and worship done together in pews, we now stream from our own couch. This year has been one that has brought a lot of uncertainty, uneasiness, and fear.
It has also brought a “new normal”. One that has allowed people to reflect on who and what they consider most important to their lives. One that has shown love, kindness, and patience – the generosity of the human spirit.
We heard, and witnessed, people stepping up right away to help – making and donating masks, sending notes and cards to high-risk individuals in healthcare settings, and delivering food and other necessities to neighbors. With the season of giving upon us, many want to continue to make an impact on other people’s lives.
One way people choose to make a difference is by donating to a nonprofit organization. In the United States, 69% of the population donates money, with approximately 30% of all annual donations received in the month of December (Nonprofits Source). A tribute gift is one way to do this.

Worldwide, 33% of donors give tribute gifts as a way to remember or honor family and or/friends, with 10% being gifted on religious holidays (Giving USA).
