Team Members Show Patience

Echoing Hills Celebrates Team Members That Show Fruit of the Spirit, Patience

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” –Psalm 37:7

Patience is probably one of the more difficult fruits of the spirit. We all face the challenge of upholding this virtue. I am sure everyone has heard they need to be more patient at some time in their life.

These past 15 months, we have encountered hard and stressful times due to the pandemic. For many of us, finding patience was not something we focused on, yet something we needed!

When we are patient, we are waiting with grace. It is difficult, and God knows this; however, there is good news. God has sent his Holy Spirit to help us with all the fruits of the spirit, especially patience. Just like the other fruits of the spirit, it takes time to grow in this fruit.

This month, we celebrate a few team members of Echoing Hills that show great patience!

Tony M. – Maintenance Coordinator

“When discussing the Fruit of the Spirit, many know that PATIENCE is not the easiest fruit to serve up! Tony demonstrates the gift of patience daily as he maintains each home, working on projects such as repairing and installing appliances, landscaping, painting, constructing, training, safety compliance – you name it, he does it! Tony is an asset to our team!

One of the remarkable things he does is making time for individuals, such as Chuck, who enjoys observing and learning from whatever project is going on. Tony always displays a pleasant attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.  Answering emails, taking calls, and receiving multiple requests from seven different homes can become overwhelming. With the help of his crew, he is always able to get the job done.  Thank you, Tony, for displaying this much-gifted attribute and blessing us all with your patience!”

Abby D. – Habilitation Coordinator

“Abby helps to set goals with the individuals that we serve. Her patience and persistence with the individuals as they work toward achieving their goals is nothing but AMAZING. She sets examples for others to follow when working together and is great with cheering them on, encouraging them along the way. It does not matter if this goal takes an hour, a week, a month, or a year, Abby’s persistence and PATIENCE are always there.

The way she works with the individuals we serve and with her children at home is an inspiration and a true example of patience.”

Elyssa K. – QIDP Assistant

“Elyssa works tirelessly to meet and exceed the wants and needs of the individuals that live at Echoing Valley. She displays patience every day through her interactions with both staff and individuals alike. Elyssa is committed to showing the individuals that she hears what they are saying and understands their feelings. She takes the same approach with staff and is someone they look to for guidance. Echoing Hills is lucky to have such a patient and passionate person.”

Ally H. – Direct Support Professional (DSP)

“Ally is great with our individuals, especially those that are more difficult. She does not let the behaviors get to her, showing grace and patience with them. She spends the extra minute with each individual to help them cool down and talk about what happened.”

Jess H. – Floor Nurse

“Jess is newer to our team, but she has been such a great asset. She shows patients to not only our individuals but staff as well. She uses experiences she has had in life to relate to others. It works so well!”
