Where to Call Home?
So, you’re looking for a new home or researching for a loved one – either way, there are excellent options everywhere! Although the hunt for a new home is exhilarating, it can be overwhelming. Have you heard of the three rules of real estate? Location, Location, Location! Well, there’s more! Someone with a disability has other factors important to them, specifically to their care needs. Home is a place for comfort, safety, and peace. Whether you live with a loved one or enjoy a space of solitude, everyone looks forward to an environment where they can be themselves.
What is an ICF?
Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) “is an optional Medicaid benefit that enables states to provide comprehensive and individualized health care and rehabilitation services to individuals to promote their functional status and independence.” These facilities provide staff or aides available 24 hours every day. First, choose the area you’d like – state, city, and neighborhood – then create a personalized routine best suited for your care. For example, ICFs give individuals a monthly allowance respecting their right to personal choice. To help those they serve, this option provides utilities and meals.
What is a Waiver Home?
Waiver homes provide the option for individuals to live alone. Additionally, homes are suitable for those seeking a close-knit environment. Choosing this living situation means covering the costs of the location, groceries, and utilities on your own. A Medicaid waiver and financial assistance programs are available to support individuals, helping with costs. These programs help cover expenses such as personal care assistance, job training, or meals.
At Echoing Hills, we provide both Intermediate Care Facilities and Waiver Services. Our waiver services emphasize the development of social and vocational skills. Dedicated to supporting those in our care, our ICFs offer a person-centered approach.
