Featured Faces – Sefu
Meet Sefu! Sefu has worked at Echoing Hills Community Living of Southwest Ohio since September 2021. Sefu began working for Echoing Hills through an agency; however, he became a full-time employee of Echoing Hills several weeks ago! As one of his co-workers jokes, “We stole him!” It only takes a second of being around him before you see why we are so excited he is here!
What Is Your Job Title?
I am a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and ICF Coordinator.
What Does Your Job Entail?
My days can vary. I help clean rooms, provide direct care, and ensure the staff has what they need. Ultimately, my goal is to improve the ADLs (activities of daily living) of the individuals I serve. I love the individuals I help. Some of my favorite things we do together include: playing games, doing arts and crafts, having a movie night complete with popcorn, cooking classes, and painting.
What Three Words Would Describe You?
Kind, Trustworthy, and Hard-working.
What Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
Sports! I enjoy playing and watching all sports! My goal is to become a coach for middle school or high school football and basketball. There is one individual I serve who loves sports as well. We have connected on a deeper level because of this shared interest. You can also find me trying new things and hanging out with my family. We enjoy playing charades and karaoke.
Where Do You Find Encouragement?
Finding new opportunities to be better encourages me. I also find encouragement in creating peaceful spaces.
What Do You Believe Are Your God-Given Talents?
I believe my nurturing nature is my talent, which I credit to my upbringing. Growing up, I was surrounded by strong women, including my mom and three sisters.
How Do You Inspire Others?
I inspire others through my positive energy and hard work. Staying positive no matter what inspires others to do the same.
What Is Your Favorite Thing About Echoing Hills?
The individuals I serve. I have built some great connections! When I walk into a room, individuals immediately come up to me. It is so rewarding. I also enjoy those I work alongside. Everyone at Echoing Hills makes you feel like family.
