Cristy – An Example of Love at Echoing Hills

There is a song called “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” Although the song was released almost 60 years ago, the message rings true more now than ever.

Luckily, there are people all around who look for opportunities to show love. To spread happiness to others. We would like you to meet one such person, Echoing Hills’ own Cristy Bower, Accounts Payable.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Cristy wanted to provide cards to individuals who live at Community Living of Central Ohio. She uses her creativity to decorate the Central Ohio campus every holiday. This holiday however, she wanted to focus on the individuals for the day devoted to love.

“It was important to me because these individuals have been self-quarantined since last March,” shared Cristy. “I wanted them to know there are people who love them and continue to pray for them.”

Cristy’s original thought was to decorate all of the windows of their home with Valentines. She placed a message on her personal Facebook page to see if friends and family would want to participate; however, word of mouth quickly took over.

Employees of Echoing Hills and their families and friends, members of the greater community, Coshocton Christian School, Coshocton Church of the Nazarene, and the New Hope Home Educator’s Group jumped on Cristy’s idea.

OVER 300 Valentines were received in addition to candy, games, decorations, and stuffed animals.

“I want to thank everyone who contributed,” shares Cristy, “These acts of kindness, done in the name of the Lord,  truly gives thanks to him, and brings happiness to the individuals we serve.”
