Bringing Balance to Employees during Imbalanced Times

Life can be challenging. There are personal and work responsibilities you balance. You are there for those that matter to you personally and professionally, all while trying to take care of your own needs. What happens when things become imbalanced? Possibly a sudden life event occurs, making it hard to focus on other responsibilities.

Enter the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Employee Assistance Programs provide support to individuals, helping to resolve personal and work-life issues. If left unaddressed, these problems could harm someone’s personal life, health, overall well-being, and work performance.
Program offerings can vary from employer to employer; however, they could include such services as counseling, work-life solutions, legal guidance, financial information, and online support.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor reports that EAPs are available to 54% of civilian workers as of March 2020. Echoing Hills is proud to be a part of that statistic.

“The EAP is a program that offers guidance and valuable benefits to employees and their families, regardless of the stage of life they’re in or the issues they’re dealing with,” states Erin Berisford, Corporate HR Generalist at Echoing Hills. “The EAP can help employees deal with personal or professional issues before they become unmanageable.”

Employee Assistance Programs are a no-cost benefit to employees. Typically done via telephone, initial conversations can also occur online or through video interaction. The program is confidential and often extended to employee’s household family members as well.

Judy Ugie, Development and Marketing Specialist at Echoing Hills, has utilized the EAP twice during her career with the organization. She found the program very easy to use with exceptional customer service.

“I called the toll-free number and was matched with someone in my area immediately,” states Judy. “Both times, I was assisted by individuals who were caring and compassionate. They showed genuine care for my needs and well-being.”

Erin has also utilized the program. “I have the app on my phone and use it similar to how I would use Google to find information or help,” shares Berisford. “I highly recommend that all employees take advantage of this wonderful benefit.”

If you are looking for a new career, consider Echoing Hills Village. Our Employee Assistance Program is only one of our great benefits!

“I value the Employee Assistance Program through Echoing Hills,” shares Ugie. “It is non-invasive, easy. The no-cost first five visits provided me with immediate relief.” She continues with a message for those considering reaching out to someone for help. “If you need support, don’t be embarrassed, don’t let stigmas hold you back. Life is hard and can get complicated. Real strength comes in knowing we need help and seeking it.”
