Meet Abby! Abby has worked at Echoing Connections of Southeast Ohio for almost four years. She makes an impact through her patience, calmness, and welcoming personality!
What Is Your Job Title?
I am the Habilitation Coordinator.
What Does Your Job Entail?
My job is to ensure everyone we serve is happy and healthy. I work with families, complete “desk work,” provide personal care, and am involved with IHP meetings. Ultimately, my job is to help everyone work towards the same goals for the individuals at Echoing Connections.
What Three Words Would Describe You?
Outgoing, Passionate, and Goofy.
What Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
I am married and have two boys (5 and 3). We enjoy going on day trips that lead us to mom-and-pop restaurants and shops. I also like anything that involves the outdoors – fishing, bonfires with friends, hiking – you name it, I like it.
Where Do You Find Encouragement?
I have a very supportive husband who encourages me. Even when I have a hard day, he reminds me that I am where I am supposed to be, doing what I am supposed to be doing. At work, it is in my co-workers, especially Rachel.
What Do You Believe Are Your God-Given Talents?
My talent is being able to make a connection with anyone I meet. I listen to what is shared and help put dreams and wishes into action. I can make a friend with anyone I meet.
How Do You Inspire Others?
I think I inspire others by just being myself. I am upbeat and willing to jump in, resilient when it is chaotic, and I see myself more as a support/advisor than a staff member. When I ask how others are doing or what I can do to help I mean it.
What Is Your Favorite Thing About Echoing Hills?
It is the group of individuals we serve! We have a diverse group, and I have learned so much from each person. I enjoy seeing everyone’s gifts and not putting them in a box.
