Loyal, Curious, and Forgiving – meet Arlene!
Growing up in a family business, Arlene has always enjoyed organizing numbers and the stories they tell. She has a passion for banking and financial improvement. As the Director of Finance for Echoing Hills, Arlene’s responsibilities include budgeting, preparing financial statements, ensuring audit compliance, and managing investments. All things numbers!
After seeing the job posting, she says, “Echoing Hills checked every box for what I was looking for in a position, I knew it would be a good fit.” Arlene’s favorite part of the role is that it allows her to work alongside Christian peers and, in an office, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Arlene has been with the ministry for one month, and since joining the organization, she’s witnessed how everyone cares for one another.
Previously, she worked as a controller for a non-profit and as a controller for a company that provides care for adults with disabilities. However, she comments, “Echoing Hills is the first organization I’ve worked for where everyone feels like a family.” She has loved helping with banking, working with the team, and attending Christmas parties – it’s a wonderful time of the year!
Arlene appreciates all sports. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf with her husband,
embroidery, sewing, cross-stitch, gardening, camping, and spending time in nature. When she was younger, she participated in baton twirling competitions.
She has a son and two daughters – all of them participated in the “best buddies” program when they were in school, which is designed to encourage friendship between children with and without disabilities. The opportunity gave her family a chance to become familiar with individuals with disabilities.
