Tom has lived at Echoing Hills Community Living of Northeast Ohio for six years. A warm hello and a charming smile greet you when meeting Tom. He has a lot to share and turns every interaction into a great conversation!
What Three Words Would Describe You?
Kind, Funny, and Smart.
What Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
I like going out into the community, especially to stores. In the summer, I enjoy playing in the Dream League.
I also enjoy making rocking chairs out of clothespins. My brother used to make them, and I learned how too!
Where Do You Find Encouragement?
My church is a place of encouragement. I attend a class each Sunday and enjoy making new friends there. I am also encouraged by my workshop, TWI. At TWI, I help sort papers to prepare for shredding. Today, I handled nine pounds of paper!
What Do You Believe Are Your God-Given Talents?
I can do many things with only one hand. Things that others may not be able to do. I make my rocking chairs one-handed, and when I had a manual wheelchair, I controlled it with only one hand.
How Do You Inspire Others?
Making others smile and laugh is the way I inspire people.
What Is Your Favorite Thing About Echoing Hills?
I enjoy the staff and people I live with. We have a great time together and enjoy doing things like playing games. We play Uno a lot. Tonight, we all made dinner and dessert (strawberry cheesecake) together.
