Nakia – Friendly Home Manager
Brings Energy and Positivity to New Role

Meet Nakia

Nakia has been the Home Manager at the Renouard Home in Northern Ohio for three months. It’s a busy, energetic, new experience, but she is ready!

Before joining the Echoing Hills team, Nakia worked in retail for thirteen years. In her new role, Nakia helps individuals with their finances, assists in planning activities and outings, helps to maintain the home, and provides personal care when needed. As someone who is honest, outspoken, and respectful, she is a perfect fit for the position. She wasn’t, however, looking to get into this line of work.

“My friend has tried to get me to join the team for five years. I was an STNA in nursing homes before working in retail, and I never thought I would return to this type of work,” shares Nakia. “Echoing Hills felt different.”

When Nakia was interviewed, she felt a sense of peace.

“The person that interviewed me was fantastic,” Nakia says. “She made me feel at ease. She was laid back and easy to talk to. I walked away from the interview with a good feeling.”

And the interviewer had a good feeling, too – she hired Nakia the same day! Since joining the team, Nakia has enjoyed her interactions with everyone.

“Everyone that works here is here because they care. It’s not all about the money but the support they give,” says Nakia. “And I have grown close, quickly, with those we serve.”

When not working, you can find Nakia spending time with her family. She has two daughters (14 and 18) who are her life. She enjoys reading, watching movies, and doing everything together as a family.
