We’re all about Fun!

We’re all about Fun!

“Well, your greatest joy comes from doing something for another, especially when it was done with no thought of something in return.” — John Wooden

Echoing Hills values fun! The smiles on individuals’ faces from the opportunities we offer make staff feel joyful. We strive to find contentment in everyday life as Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” The ministry has multiple options for individuals as we celebrate each day.

Camp Echoing Hills
Side-by-side rides, swimming, and archery – these are a few examples of the activities offered at camp. Busy days create space for lots of memories, take it in … it goes fast! Time does speed by when you’re throwing an axe, making a craft, or playing floorball. However, mornings start slowly with devotion, worship, and prayer. At the end of each week, campers and staff meet at Cross Hill for worship, prayer, reflection, and a message led by founder Cordell Brown.

Respite Weekends
Respite weekends are short getaways open to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 7 and up. They were created to offer a break for families and caregivers. There are field trips during colder months, activities, and games. Respites provide a shorter version of camp, designed to build self-esteem and promote individual growth.

Travel Destinations
Come meet a new friend! The travel program promotes integration, socialization, friendship, and fun. Open to individuals 18 years and older, campers and staff will travel to places such as Gatlinburg, Disney World, the Florida Keys, and more! The program provides an environment focused on safety and inclusion.

Community Outings
Individuals living at our residential programs, attending EchoingU, and participating in our adult service programs have opportunities to go on community outings. These smaller outings are personalized to the interests of those we serve.

Echoing Hills provides individuals with a fun and social environment where they can experience joy and celebrate life through a variety of different activities and passions. The above are a few of the examples of ways those we serve can have fun at the ministry. Interested in learning more? Check out our website at ehvi.org  for more information.
