Esther – Patient and Kind Loves To Care for Others

Meet Esther

Esther is the oldest of six children and has one niece and four nephews. She loves it that way as she enjoys taking care of kids.

“I use to work at a daycare,” Esther shares. “I began by volunteering; however, it turned into a paying job when they saw how good I was at it.”

Esther especially likes taking care of babies. She enjoys feeding them, holding them, and playing games like peek-a-boo. Her goal is to work in a daycare again. And those that work with her at Echoing Hills Community Living of Northern Ohio believe in her.

“She is very caring and loves interacting with children,” Destiny Harmon, House Manager, shares. “She is always the first to reach out and offer any support or help.”

Esther is grateful for the support she receives from Destiny and everyone at her home.

“They help me buy toys and books. They also help me to learn more about kids. These things will help me work in a daycare again.”

In addition to caring for children, Esther enjoys dogs too.

“I used to have a chocolate lab, Cinnamon Sugar,” says Esther. “She was the best dog.”

Esther believes that individuals with disabilities can do anything. She encourages others to see this too.

“Even though I have a disability, I’m still kind and caring. People tell me I have a great smile and I am funny. I am patient. These skills are helpful when taking care of kids.”
