Gentleness

Echoing Hills Celebrates Team Members That Show Fruit of the Spirit, Gentleness

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
-Matthew 11:29

Gentleness is one of the Fruit of the Spirit. What does it mean? As Echoing Hills’ Corporate Chaplain Donnis Meek shares, “It is, amongst other things, caring for others, putting the needs of others before our own.”

Gentleness truly is putting others first. Those who display this Fruit of the Spirit are mild-mannered, using kind words. They show love in all they do and are humble, not considering themselves to be better than others.

Witnessed in the interactions with those individuals with disabilities we serve, as well as with other team members, Echoing Hills has many team members that show gentleness every day.
We celebrate a few of those individuals this month!

Carla S. – Direct Support Professional (DSP)

“Carla is a person who does not like conflict. She is quick to offer an apology and is a kind person who shows love to all of our residents and staff. She has been working with us for several years and is one of our most skilled DSPs, but you would never know because Carla is not someone to brag.”

Carolyn B. – Direct Support Professional (DSP)

“Carolyn’s entire demeanor reflects gentleness. She is incredibly patient with the individuals we serve. She speaks in a soft, caring tone, which people respond to well. Even during tense or challenging moments, she remains calm and displays love and respect to everyone around her. She is also humble and points out the best qualities when speaking of others.”

Dea M. – HR Coordinator

“Dea is an amazing woman. She is our HR, Administrative Assistant, and Emotional Support person. She is a great listener and assists all the staff with any needs they have. Some individuals call into the office and she will try her best to give them the assistance they are seeking. She is always helping to make a better day for the staff and individuals and gives 100% of her kind, gentle heart.”

Alicia T. – Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP)

“Alicia has all the character of gentleness. She is always kind & compassionate to all she comes in contact with inside and outside of Echoing Hills. Alicia is a great representative for Echoing Hills through her moral standards. She shows humility in her day-to-day work with staff & individuals. Alicia always fosters a positive environment in the individual’s homes, meetings, and in the community.”
