Brings Calm and Patience to Echoing Hills
Destiny started working for Echoing Hills Community Living of Northern Ohio in 2018. She began as a Direct Support Professional (DSP); however, in 2021 was promoted to House Manager.
In her role, Destiny has many responsibilities. You can find her assisting with finances for those she serves, managing staff and schedules, helping with orientation and interviews for new employees, completing day-to-day tasks for the house, and so much more. It is a role that is rewarding, educating, and evolving.
Growing up, Destiny lived with her grandparents. She would help take care of her uncle, who had autism. After graduating high school, Destiny moved away from home and got a job as a DSP. She immediately fell in love with the field. After starting her career with Echoing Hills, she knew she was where she belonged.
“I love the individuals, the atmosphere of the company, and the house I work at,” Destiny shares. “Echoing is unlike any other company I have worked at; they truly care for the individuals and their staff. I have wonderful co-workers. They are open, nice, team players, helpful, and there for those we serve. My boss, Robin, constantly pushes me to do better. She gives me opportunities to branch out and try new things.”
Destiny loves to see the smile on an individual’s face when they accomplish a goal or try something new. In her job, she’s even had the opportunity to try something new.
“Last summer, we took those we serve to Cedar Point. Esther talked me into riding a roller coaster even though I am scared of them,” Destiny recalls. “We had so much fun and went on more. It was a day of happiness and fun for individuals and team members.”
In her free time, Destiny enjoys spending time with her husband and son, Jaxon. She likes jigsaw puzzles, board games, reading, hiking, fishing, and true crime. She is also a collector of Monopoly boards and playing cards.
